Who We Are ?
We at NOW Foundation (Nela Oneness and Wellbeing Foundation) based in Karnataka, India - envision a world where everyone thrives physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – while living in harmony with our planet and one another. We believe in the power of every individual to create positive change. Our story began with a simple yet powerful belief : that the world can be a better place, and we all have a role to play in building it. This belief, ignited by our founder Deepak Mangesh's vision of a more compassionate, sustainable, and just world, has grown into a thriving movement.
We are dedicated to empowering individuals as changemakers, building a global movement centered on transforming oneself to transform the world, and ultimately creating a more just, sustainable, inclusive, equitable, and compassionate planet. ​Deepak's journey, from civil engineer to championing socio-ecological causes, exemplifies the transformative power of individual action. His impactful endeavors include leading Bengaluru's Hadosiddapura Lake revitalization project, embarking on a 200-km solo Padayatra, establishing the Mysore Volunteer Forum for pandemic support, launching Growxin—a nutri-home garden project to improve nutritional access in Mysore's urban communities, and empowering women in Karnataka villages through green businesses. His dedication to sustainable livelihoods and education among adivasi communities in the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve underscores his deep connection with people across urban, rural, and adivasi communities.
These profound experiences in sustainable livelihoods, ecosystem restoration, and agro-biodiversity projects deeply influenced Deepak, laying the groundwork for the NOW Foundation's mission. The Foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals as changemakers, fostering a global movement centered on transforming oneself to transform the world. Their vision is a more just, sustainable, inclusive, equitable, and compassionate planet.
